More than 3,500 people took part in the activities of the CMA 2019 Beaubassin-est Day!

More than 3500 people participated in the Beaubassin-est Community Day of the CMA 2019 on Sunday, August 18th. Twelve activities were organized by volunteers from community organizations and people participated in large numbers, despite the rain in the morning.

Activities included L’Grand bazar-à-choix at the Grand-Barachois Hall, the photo exhibition "Le monde de par-che-nous", the Unveiling of the Pyramid of Light and Shadow, the Opening of the Collection of 200 hooked cushions for my 200th anniversary and a musical evening with Sandra Le Couteur at Barachois Historic Church, a Show with Art Richard and Story Time at the Père-Edgar-T.-LeBlanc School in Grand-Barachois, the Cormier-Village Historical School Tour, a Conference on the History of Mi'kmaq-Acadian Relations at the Cormier-Village Cultural Center, as well as an afternoon of music with Hubert Gallant and Countryside, an Antique Car Show and the Acadian Concert starring Laurie LeBlanc at the Haute-Aboujagane Community Center.

"I would like to thank all the volunteers who have made such a great program for our CMA 2019 Community Day," said Mayor Ronnie Duguay. "And also thanks to all the participants who made our day so successful."

Participants were able to enter the Passport Beaubassin contest by having it stamped at 4 different activities. The deadline to receive the participation coupons on the Passport is August 26 at 4 pm and the draw will be made at the regular meeting of the Beaubassin-est Rural Community Council on Monday, August 26 at 7 pm. The 2 prizes to be won are 100 pounds of lobster, courtesy of the Edmond Gagnon Ltd. plant, and an iPad, courtesy of Crandall Engineering.
