Beaubassin-est Tree of Hope Lighting at the Père-Edgar-T.-LeBlanc School

The Beaubassin-est Rural Community, the Père-Edgar-T.-LeBlanc (PETL) School in Grand-Barachois and the Tree of Hope Trio BCS (Beaubassin-est/Cap-Pelé/Shediac) Committee held the Beaubassin-est Tree of Hope Lighting on Thursday, November 22nd in front of the school. Approximately 150 people attended the ceremony hosted by Diane Richard, Community Development Officer at the school, and speeches were given by Beaubassin-est Mayor, Ronnie Duguay, Chair of the Tree of Hope Trio BCS Committee, Tina Mazerolle, Vice-President Westmorland on the Provincial Cabinet from the Tree of Hope, Cheryl LeBlanc, School Principal, Pierrette Gallant, and Student Council President, Rémi Ouellette.

Student council members collected donations for the campaign and the school choir, under the direction of music teacher Louisette Godbout, performed two songs. The Knights of Columbus of Grand-Barachois took the opportunity to present a donation of $500 to the students' council of the PETL school, for the Tree of Hope campaign.

Two persons affected by cancer, Nicole LeBlanc of Saint-André-LeBlanc and Rachel Léger of Cormier-Village, then proceeded to light the Tree of Hope in front of the school. The evening was a success! The campaign continues and we encourage people to be very generous!
