The Beaubassin-est Rural Community is currently looking for a dynamic and competent person to fill the full-time position of Administrative Assistant.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be expected to provide administrative support to the council and administration in his/her duties by ensuring, among other things, keeping the books, welcoming the public and answering the phone, as well as ensuring proper functioning of the municipal buildings. This permanent position is 35 hours a week.

Brief description of responsibilities

• Welcome and direct the public to the relevant departments

• Receive, answer and route phone calls

• Cumulate secretarial functions and provide support to council and staff

• Perform various accounting tasks

• Taking care of the office work tools

• Update of certain sections of the website and social media

• Provide support for the organization of community activities and the operation of certain community programs

Skills and abilities sought

• College diploma in administration and/or accounting or equivalent experience

• Good knowledge of standard Simply Accounting and Microsoft Office software

• Good knowledge of both official languages

• Administrative experience with municipal committees or councils

• Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing

• Ability to solve problems, demonstrate autonomy and initiative

• Management and organizational skills, ability to work in a team

• Focus on excellence in customer service
